A two-character dialogue scene focused on keeping a conversation feeling alive and connected between two performers, not just one. Her hand resting on his shoulder, then lifting away into an open, explanatory gesture as she talks, then settling back again, became the throughline for the whole piece small physical contact and release used to track the emotional temperature of the conversation without a single line needing to spell it out. The real challenge was reactivity: making sure his listening poses, his head turns, and his own small shifts in weight felt like genuine responses to what she was saying and doing, rather than a second performance running in parallel next to hers. Getting that back and forth to feel connected two characters actually talking with each other instead of just near each other was the main acting problem this piece was solving.
