Adoption Day

Fun Fact: initially I was doing my monologue with a human rig than looked through my saved rigs and saw this dog I hadn't used and it just hit me with adaption day and I ran with that. but that came with it's own complications, the real work was matching Charlie Day's specific brand of performance. fast, escalating, borderline-manic energy that swings from wide eyed panic to aggressive intensity in a single line. Translating that onto a non-human face meant leaning hard on the rig's brow and eye controls to carry most of the emotional read, since a dog's mouth shapes can't hit the same broad, elastic exaggeration a human face can for dialogue. I pushed brow height and asymmetry, wide sclera holds, and quick tension changes around the eyes to keep the performance reading as unmistakably him while timing every take, snap, and hold against the actual cadence and breath pattern of the original delivery, so the exaggeration stayed tied to real dialogue timing instead of just moving for its own sake.
